Competition Rules

TROPHYLAND TRIPLES

EACH ENTRY MUST BE MADE FOR OR ON BEHALF OF A BOWLING CLUB. ENTRIES ON BEHALF OF INDIVIDUALS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. NO RESTRICTIONS WILL APPLY TO THE NUMBER OF TEAMS ENTERED BY ONE CLUB.
A TEAM / ENTRY WILL CONSIST OF 4 TRIPLES IN TOTAL. (12 PLAYERS WITH 3 BOWLS EACH).
A TEAM MAY INCLUDE 2 ESSEX COUNTY BADGED PLAYER PER TRIPLE IF DESIRED.
A MATCH WILL CONSIST OF 18 ENDS ON EACH RINK AND THE RESULT DECIDED ON AGGREGATE SHOTS.
IN ALL ROUNDS INCLUDING THE SEMI-FINAL, THE MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED ON A HOME AND AWAY BASIS.
ON THE SAME DAY 2 TRIPLES WILL PLAY AT THEIR HOME VENUE AND THE REMAINING 2 TRIPLES WILL PLAY AT THE OPPONENTS VENUE.
THE FINAL WILL BE AT ONE VENUE AND ALL TRIPLES WILL PLAY ON THE SAME GREEN ON THE SAME DAY.
THE HOME TEAM IN THE DRAW FOR EACH ROUND WILL BE THE CHALLENGER.
AT THE CHALLENGER'S HOME VENUE ONLY, BEFORE THE DRAW FOR RINK AND OPPOSITION IS MADE, ONE OF THE RINK NUMBERS SHALL BE DRAWN BY THE NON-CHALLENGER (AWAY TEAM) TO PLAY THE EXTRA END.
THE SCORE ON THE EXTRA ENDSHALL ONLY APPLY IF THE AGGREGATE SCORE IS LEVEL AFTER 18 ENDS ON EACH RINK HAVE BEEN COMPLETED HOME AND AWAY.
IN THE FINAL, THE EXTRA END WILL NOT BE PLAYED UNTIL ALL TRIPLES HAVE COMPLETED THE REQUIRED 18 ENDS.
IF THE AGGREGATE SCORE IS LEVEL THE EXTRA END MUST THEN BE PLAYED AND APPLIED.
ALL SCORECARDS MUST BE SIGNED BY THE SKIP OF EACH TRIPLE OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE.
A CLUB MAY USE THE OPTION OF FIELDING DIFFERENT PLAYERS IN SUCCEEDING TIES OF THE COMPETITION ONLY IF THE SUBSTITUTE PLAYER(S) HAVE NOT ALREADY PLAYED IN ANOTHER DIFFERENT OR DEFEATED ENTRY.
THE FINAL OF THE COMPETITION WILL BE PLAYED AT THE VENUE OF THE GROUP NINE FINALS.
THE MATCH RESULT MUST BE REPORTED TO THE COMPETITION SECRETARY ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH TAKING PLACE. CONFIRMATION OF THE RESULT WITH SCORECARDS MUST FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY BY 1ST CLASS POST OR HAND DELIVERY.
REFERENCE SHOULD BE MADE TO COMPETITION SHEETS FOR SPECIFIC ROUND DATES.
EACH CLUB / ENTRY SHALL HAVE THE OPTION OF PLAYING A MATCH PREVIOUS TO A SPECIFIC ROUND DATE BY MUTUAL CONSENT, EXCLUDING THE FINAL. (RULE 11 STILL APPLIES)

IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISPUTE OR MATTERS ARISING FROM THESE COMPETITION RULES, THE DECISION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND COMPETITION SECRETARY SHALL BE FINAL.
